Conscious competence Model has 4 stages that take you from unaware to most aware state. 

  1. Unconscious incompetence 

Students are usually Unaware of the learning skills that should be applied to make their achievements in academics. This is an example of Unconscious incompetence stage.In this stage students don’t recognize the value of a particular skill. They don’t know how to acquire the skill.They are unable to take initiatives at this stage because of the lack of ability to understand and know about the skill. 

  1. Conscious incompetence 

Students become aware of the benefits of a particular skill. They become conscious about learning but still don’t know what actions they have to take. In this stage, many students try to take action and learn from failures. 

  1. Conscious competence 

The students become aware of the steps to be taken to achieve a particular skill.This is the stage of making a clear goal. Here you decide the steps that you should take to achieve what you want. You keep records and monitor your progress as well in this stage. 

  1. Unconscious competence 

Skill becomes a habit at this stage. You are now the master of this skill and you can perform it in  all situations, no matter what happens. You are a Super Champion and you reach your destination at this beautiful stage.
